Mr.Gibore, as he is also known, doesn’t have any plans on slowing down and is making moves outside of just being an artist. He wants to have a legacy and his thought process is that of a young Mogul. JaJa Understands that although music is timeless, us as humans are not. We have an expiration date and JaJa wants to be remembered long after that! So be on the lookout for the full interview where we get a closer look at the Black Saesar, The Man behind the Myth, JaJa Gibore!
This short film was shot about 2-3 years ago. It did not have a script or any real planning to it other than just pick up a camera and make a short. With limited resources and the ambition to make something, we came up with this. There are several reasons as to why we didn’t initially want to put this out there to be scrutinized and criticized to death (due to the poor lighting audio, and pretty much this being the 1st actual short film that WiseMind Films attempted), but then we recently found the footage in an old hard drive and decided to play around with it. It’s always good to revisit your work and compare to see how far you have come. It obviously isn’t going to win any awards or go viral but it’s a completed project that actually has potential to be expanded on. For those are following WiseMind Films you will eventually see with our future projects that they are all connected one way or another. Some of the hints and clues wont be so easy to pick up on but those who have a good eye will notice these little things.
Please feel free to comment and tell us what you think.
In today’s musical landscape you don’t see too many artist (outside of the mainstream) who take their time putting a project together. Most of the time artist will release a freestyle here and there to the latest track that’s buzzing on the radio, and will drop a few other singles before slapping all these random songs together and calling it a mixtape. The market is so overwhelmingly saturated with music that mixtapes come and go at the drop of hat and WE, the consumer, don’t even realize it unless it comes from a big name artist that is force fed to us through radio and TV. Imagine how difficult it is for an Independent artist to separate themselves from the thousands of other trying to make it. As hard as it is to market your project without a big budget or record label behind you, it still can be done. Take G.Bags (YFFR) for example, who is making his return to the music scene 06/25/14 with the release of his 3rd solo mixtape YFFR3. Since he dropped YFFR1 on March 9th 2011 Bags has made it very clear that he is a firm believer in #BarsoverBullshit. His Lyric heavy mixtapes have garnered him tons of fans in the 518 and beyond that genuinely support his music and are actually excited for his newest release. This time around Bags opted to not just release a few songs for the public’s listening pleasure, instead he decided to market his project on social media in the form of promo videos sampling different songs of the project. The anticipation for YFFR3 is getting stronger by the day and the beauty of it is people are actually re-posting the promo video on their own accord simply because they support this mans effort to promote his project. In his latest Promo video, G.Bags is joined by Sidney McDonald of EveriExposure.com to promote YFFR3.
